Marta Alvarez,
Professional Engineer & Professional Land Surveyor
Marta Alvarez, PE/LS/MASCE is the founder of YCE, Inc., a boutique Ventura-based office that provides land surveying and civil engineering services to environmental developers, agri-business farmers, residential property owners, large site developers and more.
Born in Chile and raised in Florida, Marta knew since she was a teen that she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and become an engineer. Marta received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in 1984 and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 1999, both from California State University, Northridge. In 1986, Marta founded YEMMA Consulting Engineers with her father, Enrique. The company name YEMMA represents the first letters of her immediate family’s names plus their last name: mom Yaly, father Enrique, Marta, brother Mike, and the family name, Alvarez
Marta’s professional engineering background includes all aspects of project administration - from bid document and cost estimate preparation to field and office operations. She is well versed in comprehensive construction management for both the public and private sectors, including bidding, scheduling, value engineering, change orders, close-outs and
as-builts.
With Marta’s long-standing civil engineering career, she has the knowledge and expertise to lead her clients through the planning and design of their specific project; whether it's engineered reports for a large-scale public works improvement project, designing water drainage solutions for hillside erosions on a growing farm, or simply land surveying to identify easements and parcel property lines.
Marta strongly believes in giving back to her community, as well as the field of engineering. She’s especially interested in inspiring a new generation of girls and showing them the many possibilities in civil engineering and land surveying for women. She is a long-standing volunteer judge for the Ventura County Annual Science Fair and has given much of her time to young career days throughout her 30+ year career.
Jorge Olivo,
Project Engineer
Jorge graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has also earned his Drafting and Design Technology Certificate and is extremely adept at using AutoCAD software. Jorge has over 15 years experience working in various private and state funded construction projects and is well versed in civil engineering developments both in the office and in the field. He especially enjoys conducting topographic surveys, construction survey staking, and well surveys using Total Station and GPS surveying equipment.
Jorge is YCE, Inc.’s primary point of contact for property owners, contractors, public agencies, and private engineers looking for grading, land development, and infrastructure improvements. He provides the company’s clients with excellent design and project management skills for projects that include grading plans, ag grading plans, as-builts, topographic maps, erosion control plans, water drainage plans, storm drainage system design, hydrology and hydraulic reports, detention basin design water availability letters, FEMA Certificates, and Large Conduit Decommissioning Plans for SCE & PG&E.
Christian Martinez,
CAD Technician
Christian graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Oxnard with an Associate in computer drafting and design. At YCE, he applies his technical and communicative skills to complete various projects around the office and in the field. Christian has been with YCE for over a year now and has experience with Civil 3D AutoCAD. In his free time, Christian enjoys barbecuing with his family, hiking, and practicing softball drills with his daughter.
Blanca Miranda,
Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Blanca holds an Associates degree and Administrative Assistant certificate and has worked for YCE, Inc. for 14 years.
She provides administrative support for the entire team to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office and staff. In addition to scheduling projects, Blanca maintains the financial record keeping for the company, administers payroll, and coordinates special projects. In her free time, Blanca enjoys spending quality time with her beloved friends and family.
Ruben Orozco,
Staff Engineer
Ruben graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Starting his career off here at YCE, he is applying his knowledge and skills to complete projects within the office as well as in the field. During his free time, Ruben enjoys spending time with his family and friends, bike riding, hiking, watching movies, and playing video games. As a team member at YCE, he's committed to helping the team and is looking forward to see what the experience brings.
Jazmyne Brown,
Engineering Assistant
Jazmyne is currently enrolled at California State University Northridge pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a first generation college student and hopes her sister will follow in her footsteps. She also works part-time at Saint Johns hospital as an infant hearing screener. Here at YCE, she applies her organizational and technical skills to complete various projects around the office and in the field.
Jazmyne is an avid coffee lover and loyal customer to her favorite local coffee shop, Anacappuccino. Additionally, in her free time, Jazmyne enjoys making music, DJ'ing, and helping coach her sisters softball team with her dad.

Chicken lover
Sleep, eat, treats, watch everyone work, sleep, eat, chicken, treats, yup that's a day in the life for Mr. Sammy. Here at YCE, he is the highlight of the office and steals everyone's hearts daily. Not to mention, he'll love you forever if you give him chicken treats.
