Professional Engineer & Professional Land Surveyor
Marta Alvarez, PE/LS/MASCE is the founder of YCE, Inc., a boutique Ventura-based office that provides land surveying and civil engineering services to environmental developers, agri-business farmers, residential property owners, large site developers and more.
Born in Chile and raised in Florida, Marta knew since she was a teen that she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and become an engineer. Marta received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in 1984 and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 1999, both from California State University, Northridge. In 1986, Marta founded YEMMA Consulting Engineers with her father, Enrique. The company name YEMMA represents the first letters of her immediate family’s names plus their last name: mom Yaly, father Enrique, Marta, brother Mike, and the family name, Alvarez
Marta’s professional engineering background includes all aspects of project administration - from bid document and cost estimate preparation to field and office operations. She is well versed in comprehensive construction management for both the public and private sectors, including bidding, scheduling, value engineering, change orders, close-outs and
With Marta’s long-standing civil engineering career, she has the knowledge and expertise to lead her clients through the planning and design of their specific project; whether it's engineered reports for a large-scale public works improvement project, designing water drainage solutions for hillside erosions on a growing farm, or simply land surveying to identify easements and parcel property lines.
Marta strongly believes in giving back to her community, as well as the field of engineering. She’s especially interested in inspiring a new generation of girls and showing them the many possibilities in civil engineering and land surveying for women. She is a long-standing volunteer judge for the Ventura County Annual Science Fair and has given much of her time to young career days throughout her 30+ year career.
Jorge graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has also earned his Drafting and Design Technology Certificate and is extremely adept at using AutoCAD software. Jorge has over 15 years experience working in various private and state funded construction projects and is well versed in civil engineering developments both in the office and in the field. He especially enjoys conducting topographic surveys, construction survey staking, and well surveys using Total Station and GPS surveying equipment.
Jorge is YCE, Inc.’s primary point of contact for property owners, contractors, public agencies, and private engineers looking for grading, land development, and infrastructure improvements. He provides the company’s clients with excellent design and project management skills for projects that include grading plans, ag grading plans, as-builts, topographic maps, erosion control plans, water drainage plans, storm drainage system design, hydrology and hydraulic reports, detention basin design water availability letters, FEMA Certificates, and Large Conduit Decommissioning Plans for SCE & PG&E.
Civil Engineering Designer
A native of San Buenaventura, Tim has been actively involved in the civil engineering and land surveying fields since the early seventies. He has prepared design construction documents using a variety of design tools, from pushing a No. 2 lead pencil to utilizing the latest industry standards, such as Autodesk Civil 3D software. He's worked on a wide array of projects such as residential subdivisions (single family, multi use, apartment complexes, planned unit developments), commercial site developments (miscellaneous ranging from gas station-convenience stores to shopping centers to industrial parks). Design includes all necessary calculations required for storm water management and hydraulic analysis, preparation of sanitary sewer and potable water system design, grading, geometry and staking plans, erosion, sedimentation and pollution control plans, private subsurface sewage disposal system plans, preparation of boundary survey, preliminary and final subdivision plats, deed research. He also has a Georgia certified level II erosion, sedimentation and pollution control plan. He has additional software experience with Land Desktop 2009 with Civil 3D Companion and Hydraflow Storm Sewers 2004 (Intellisolve).
Tim has also previously held several community affairs positions, such as City of Monticello Parks & Recreation board member, Downtown Development Authority Board, and Board of Zoning Appeals. In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, coaching and playing soccer, residential house plan design, and being Bosco the Dawg's human sidekick.
Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Blanca holds an Associates degree and Administrative Assistant certificate and has worked for YCE, Inc. for over 10 years.
She provides administrative support for the entire team to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office and staff. In addition to scheduling projects, Blanca maintains the financial record keeping for the company, administers payroll, and coordinates special projects. In her free time, Blanca enjoys spending quality time with her beloved friends and family.
In May 2000, Georgette attended Long Beach City College studying Business Law and Riverside Community College, Norco Branch. She studied a variety of computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Georgette retired in 2015 after 24 years with the State of California Unemployment and Disability Insurance Appeals Board. Her experience as office technician, scheduling cases for ALJ’s, Supervisor and finally as Senior Legal Typist carries an array of knowledge and organizational skills.
In her free time, Georgette spends her time working out, hiking, sailing, and most of all gardening. She also enjoys volunteering for the Caregivers of Ventura and pet sitting.
Born in Ventura and raised in Oakview and Ojai, Brent is a 30 year veteran of the Ventura County Fire Department and experienced carpenter. He works to keep the office organized and efficient. He has 3 daughters and in his free time, he's a championship motorcycle hill climber.

Cameron recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering at UC Merced. At YCE, he applies his organizational and technical skills to complete various projects around the office and in the field. He also has experience with Civil 3D AutoCAD and Excel. In his free time, Cameron enjoys cooking, gaming, and playing music with his band, The Renegades.
